InEco

Lightweight. Electric. Exciting.

The lightweight-build InEco electric car is a research project from the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology and the Leichtbau-Zentrum Sachsen GmbH, partnered by Thyssen Krupp Steel and Poschwatta Automotive. The vehicle, weighing in at just 800 kg unladen, showcases new forms of composite construction, featuring steel and carbon fibre. All this sounds sporty – which was precisely the note Poschwatta Automotive was tasked with imparting to the InEco by those in charge of the project.
After completing a requirements profile and tackling the technical specifications, Poschwatta Automotive developed a shooting brake, with a greenhouse pushed well back for dynamic proportions.
Poschwatta Automotive primarily leveraged the concepts of lightweight construction and materials in “theme islands”: graphically enclosed regions at the front, rear and sides.
The internal concept features a sleek, elegant and tidy interior with a forward-looking HMI concept and the need to minimise the control elements was conveyed to Poschwatta Automotive as the prevailing overall concept governing the interior design.
