Trabant nt

1st prototype

Electric. Simple. Emotional.

Klaus Schindler was the first to dream up the second coming of the Trabant, and decided to entrust the design to Nils Poschwatta and the construction to the Indikar company for the prototype model. The working electric trabant was then presented at the IAA 2009 show.
Simple, durable, light and practical – hallmarks of the Trabant vehicle for decades and retained in this modern embodiment.
The new Trabant NT is thrifty, ecological, innovative and individual, while retaining the special design properties which made the Trabant P 601 unique, but redefining them with a contemporary and modern interpretation.
The interior of the Trabant NT had to be minimalistic but appealing, and the most economical production techniques were evident right from the earliest design phase.
This is why the Trabant NT adopts elements of the mobile Infotainment era, proving that the comfort of its occupants was not overlooked. It couldn’t be easier, meanwhile, to introduce mobile navigation systems, MP3 players and radios via the plug-in configuration in ergonomically optimised locations.
