Rolling Chassis 2021

Driverless electric transportation.

At the iaa 2021 in Munich, Schaeffler unveiled its Rolling Chassis, a flexible and scalable platform for new, driverless mobility solutions in passenger and goods transport and for special applications. To give the Rolling Chassis an appealing appearance, Poschwatta Automotive designed a minimalistic covering. As the design theme, Poschwatta Automotive used a crash-relevant aluminum chamber profile, which was optimized stylistically and covered the entire platform, thereby protecting internal components and flowing on into the fenders.

In some areas of the demonstration model, Poschwatta showed off the scalability of the platform with transparent elements and was able to give an insight into the storage media at the same time, which were also designed by Poschwatta Automotive central theme is, of course, the way the drive train works and the networking and communication between storage media, control devices and motors. Poschwatta Automotive designed a light strip for this, which connects the corner modules with one another and with the central control box and which, with various light animations, can illustrate steering and control impulses and certain connections and charging functions.
